Dr. Davi Soares is an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Wichita State University (WSU). He holds a PhD from Kansas State University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. He previously worked as Cell Modeling Engineer for Freudenberg e-Power Systems, where he investigated materials for the next generation of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), conducted experiments to validate models, and assessed safety and thermal properties of LIBs. As the PI of the Energy Systems lab at WSU, his research focuses on: (i) the development, characterization, and modeling of novel two-dimensional materials as electrodes for the next generation of batteries and supercapacitors; and (ii) the development of enhanced battery models to predict degradation modes, allowing high-performance batteries to be safely operated while providing longer lifespan. Davi is the author and co-author of twenty journal papers, two book chapters, and has presented his research in several prestigious conferences.
