Bio

Md Zawad Hossain holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from University of Dhaka and a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Kansas State University. His research focuses on the kinetics and degradation mechanisms of selenide-based transition metal dichalcogenides in nonaqueous monovalent-ion battery systems. Since joining the Energy Systems Lab in Summer 2024, Zawad has published several journal articles and received several honors, including: (i) the Dora Wallace Hodgson Outstanding Doctoral Student Award; and (ii) selection as one of ten graduate students university-wide to present at the Capitol Graduate Research Summit (CGRS) in Topeka, KS.
